Biography

Billyblue - a name I acquired doing a corporate industrial show that toured around the Montreal area - we did a 20 minute kids show dressed in larger than life M & M costumes (I was the blue M & M). I liked the irony of this huge smiley exterior disguising my 'tired from partying the night before' interior, as hoards of kids came up to hug me with their parents smiling on. If they only knew what was inside - a paradigm of the music industry and it's fans, I thought. So I decided to use it as my pseudonym. Next on my list of strange jobs, I also performed the role of Eddie in Mamma Mia for 4 years - say what you will about ABBA, but I love 'em, and I don??™t think that detracts from my ???underground edge??™ ??“ if anything, it perverts it even further. As for my music, the songs are all written and produced by me in my bedroom studio, (just incase you thought I was selfish and wasn't giving credit to the other band members.) I like writing punky new-wave art pieces...a little on the fun side of pretentious... I just like what I like...many various things...contradictions in style. I don't believe in commiting to one 'scene'...I want to experience everything. I don't think that's selling out...I think that's living. Some random thoughts... I'm right, but everybody is...in their own heads. Love eludes me, and every other self-depricating artist I know - is this a self-fulfilled prophecy? The unconscious fear is "Will my music suck when I actually start feeling content? Do I need that carrot dangling in front of me to keep me inspired?" Damn - can't deny it makes fodder for good music though. Love is my carrot. That was fun to say. Despite this, I am generally a happy guy, and have a lot of fun doing what I do. I want to change the world through example, but it's hard when you're sarcastic most of the time. 'Cool' is a trap...a boring trap. I'm still figuring things out...
