Born and bred in Spanish Harlem, New York, Money Green is sure to be the next hot thing to hit, not only the rap world but, the music world in general. The group consists of rappers Kris Kaz, Blu and Dinero. Each member, whose influences include Kool G. Rap, Rakim, Big Pun, Fat Joe, Nas, AZ, Big Daddy Kane, Scarface, Big L, CNN, their mentor PA Black and each other amongst others, brings their own unique style, experiences and perspectives to the table. One would think they were solo artists put together by some marketing genius, yet upon listening to their material, their chemistry is undeniable as is showcased by their incredible cohesiveness on songs. The group set out early on to distinguish themselves from other groups by maintaining their own distinctive styles and being determined to approach song writing from all aspects and angles to make music even their parents and grandparents can enjoy. In mid 2004, after years of being pushed by their peers to give it a serious go, they did so and released their first CD entitled GreenLight. The CD did just what it was intended to do which was to showcase their skills, styles, and versatility. The CD, which boasted all original lyrics and music, received nothing but great reviews. The streets embraced it and so did several Internet, Public Access, and Student Radio programs in the tri-state area. Mi Amor, Streetz Can't Ignore, Time Has Come & Rock W/ U all received regular spins for weeks and were featured on a few mix-tapes. Now, with their second CD entitled GreenLight Part II: Runnin da Red and the support of the streets to fuel their movement, the group is determined to keep it moving at top speed. While GreenLight had only 6 songs and was intended to both please and tease, this particular collection has a harder edge and sound to it, boasting 13 original songs and 10 original tracks. Once again the streets are embracing it. It [Runnin da Red] raises the bar for all other unsigned groups and has most who listen to it saying that they are definitely ready DJ DeepFreeze. Currently, while pushing Runnin da Red, they are already hard at work and half way finished with their third (as of yet) untitled group production and are lining themselves up for a great deal of exposure via Hip Hop DVDs and performances. They are also working on their own CD/DVD that will feature a host of New York City M.C.s, DJs and producers who they work with and consider extended family. Furthermore, the group is also set to be featured on DJ DeepFreeze's upcoming DVD mixtape series as well as two or three other DVDs that are rapidly becoming Hip Hop mainstays such as Street Agents, and Blow DVD Magazine. In addition to being featured on DJ Deepfreeze DVD, they are also slated to have many songs and beats from Runnin da Red on the soundtrack. Not to mention, their in house production team is lined up to contribute a slew of other original beats to the DVDs soundtrack as well.
